Quentin Tarantino 9th movie "Once Upon a Time in ... Hollywood" was preceded by a series of fake movie posters starring the Rick Dalton character played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Recently the posters were affixed on the Aquarius Theater mural on Sunset Blvd.
With a perfect 60/70's style, two of them ("Nebraska Jim" and "Uccidimi subito Ringo, disse il Gringo") were commissioned by Quentin Tarantino to one of the greatest Italian poster artist: Renato Casaro.
Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the two other artist who made the poster of "Tanner" and "Operazione Dyn-o-mite" (my favorite), this last was inspired by the Sergio Corbucci spy movie "Bersaglio Mobile".
After my first Rick Dalton fake poster inspired by the "giallo" movies directed by Umberto Lenzi, I made a new “locandina” that pays homage to the Italian crime flicks from the 70s.
The title “A bastard for Inspector Scagnetti” mentions two elements from the Tarantino universe, the “bastard” from Inglorious Basterds and the character of detective Scagnetti. Seymour Scagnetti is the officer mentioned in the movie "Reservoir Dogs" by Mr. Blonde; detective Jack Scagnetti chases the Knox couple in "Natural Born Killers".
