Presented at the Cannes Film Festival four days ago, "Once Upon a Time in ... Hollywood" was preceded by a series of fake movie posters starring the Rick Dalton character played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Recently the posters were affixed on the Aquarius Theater mural on Sunset Blvd.
With a perfect 60/70's style, two of them ("Nebraska Jim" and "Uccidimi subito Ringo, disse il Gringo") were commissioned by Quentin Tarantino to one of the greatest Italian poster artist: Renato Casaro.
Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the two other artist who made the poster of "Tanner" and "Operazione Dyn-o-mite" (my favorite), this last was inspired by the Sergio Corbucci spy movie "Bersaglio Mobile".
Fascinated by this clever marketing campaign, I decided to make a fake poster inspired by the "giallo" movies directed by Umberto Lenzi in the late 60s, like "Paranoia" and "Spasmo". Bob Collins was one of the many pseudonym used by the Italian director disapperead in 2017.
Hope you like it.
